From Hong Kong to the Earth and into space
Versatile in drawing inspiration from urban landscapes, big data, literature, anime, space and the universe, the electronic music composer and multimedia artist Choi Sai-ho has wielded vast imagination and extended the artistic dimensions of his creations. His audio-visual output includes: Collide, which won accolades at the 2016 Visual Music Award — Visual Music Live Contest in Germany; Freezing Night・Tram Depot# based on a poem by Yasi, which made the longlist for the Lumen Prize 2018 (moving image category) in the United Kingdom; Critical Era that chronicles climate change; and Signals, selected by the Spanish electronic and experimental music Sónar Festival to transmit to the exoplanet GJ273b.
For this edition of the New Vision Arts Festival's Live ‧ Earth ‧ Space, Choi introduces both new work and key pieces as we travel from the earth into space! Apart from collaborating with new media artist Jason Lam and technical director Mick Yip, Choi will also perform pieces from Dragon's Delusion (Dragon's Delusion Era and A Delusion). What will entail when the anime "This is Hong Kong Punk" meets "This is Sai-ho's Techno"? Flights of fancy and rapture?
